Vibrant & Juicy
We’ve enjoyed drinking & producing this style of wine over the years and V23 gave us an opportunity to showcase the vibrancy we capture with Syrah grown in our Leongatha vineyard. Blended with 20% Pinot Noir adding heady spices into the mix.
Tasting Note:
‘Bright Cassis colour, lifted florals, black current and five-spice on the nose. Juicy, fleshy with hallmarks of a lovely cool vintage, oodles of vibrancy and just plain fun to drink.’
VINEYARD
- Leongatha Vineyard, South Gippsland
- North facing rows, on an easterly aspect
- Deep, basalt rich clay loam soils
- Vineyard planted in 1990
WINEMAKING
- 30% whole cluster fermentation
- 80% Syrah / 20% Pinot Noir
- Pressed into a neutral hog-heads to finish fermentation and MLF
- Bottled un-fined & un-filtered
